Are young Brits becoming more libertarian?

At least two articles from The Economist a while back ago suggests so.

Generation Boris: "Britain’s youth are not just more liberal than their elders. They are also more liberal than any previous generation. One politician seems to speak their language"

The strange rebirth of liberal England: "Young Britons have turned liberal, both socially and economically. Politicians need to get on their side"

(Keep in mind that in Europe, "liberal" does not mean the same thing as it does in the US, but has retained its classical meaning. I've never really understood why American social democrats call themselves liberals in the first place.)

What do you think? Is there any truth to this or is it wishful thinking from The Economist? Would be ineteresting to see what the young Brits here think (and it would be helpful if they made clear their own political allegiances).
