Are we a walking talking virus?

Thanks to my fascination of atoms, elements & quantum stuff one question I ask myself is, are we a walking talking virus!

Ok, gulp, here goes.

A virus can only live if it has a host, if it has always needed a host to survive at what point did a virus start on this planet, I assume it must have been on the planet from the very start, but that's the first puzzle, where did it come from, how did it survive, what was it's host, how did it replicate itself?

A flea is about a million nanometers, a virus is a hundred nanometers, our DNA is ten and what a marvel the nano world is. Nature has been using nano technology since....the start & what it can do with that technology is amazing.

We are very technically advanced but even with all the know how we have nowadays we couldn't build a virus to save our lives, how did nature design and build such an amazing engineering feat, or did it? Was it really the first sort of life form on the planet?

The thing is, why would nature design such a, what we consider, vicious, destructive design right from the off? How would life evolve from such a killer?

The human genome project has found that we only need 3% of our DNA to build a human, that leaves 97% with no understandable use, but they say that the 97% looks like a virus type structure.

If the 97% is virus like & it's our DNA what does that tell us?

Has nature, right from the off, had a design in mind that can create life, that has a killer instinct, evolves, mutates, grows bigger until it reaches it's goal of creating a walking talking virus that replicates itself by way of reproduction but can stand alone & survive? Seems that way, and it's called a human.

Could it be that nature has created the ultimate virus in us?

Thanks for any help understanding the bits I confuse myself with :D
